PR N°1 of the Heart of Lozère. The "Châtaigniers de l'Empereur" are so named because they were planted under Napoleon III by Russian prisoners captured during the Crimean War in 1855. The Rieucros (name of the stream) has deeply cut into the limestone and reached the base of mica schists favorable to the growth of chestnut trees. Marking: yellow color.
