This circuit will take you through the national forest of Mende where dense stands of Austrian black pines alternate with open areas. Forests have been planted by the state on arid lands impoverished by centuries of intensive grazing. You will pass in front of the abandoned village of Gerbal. Please note, for your safety, access to the ruins of the hamlet is prohibited. This easy hike will allow you to get to know the national forest of Mende better, where open areas alternate with dense and austere stands. To get there, access from the city center of Mende by the D25 road, direction Causse de Mende then "Panorama du Mont-Mimat" then "Ermitage Saint-Privat". The car park is at the end of the straight line before turning right to go down to the hermitage. Marking: yellow color.
