The first 15 kilometres of this very demanding circuit are uphill. This will then be followed over 19 kilometres by a succession of descents and climbs on a rather ascending and pleasant profile between forests and pastures. The last 19 kilometres, generally descending, will return to Mende via the magnificent slopes of the Margeride.
