The castle is made up of a substantially square main building, bathed to the south by the Tarn and surrounded by a moat on the other sides. The northeast and northwest corners are flanked by circular towers between which projects a higher square tower. The southwest corner is formed by a square tower included in the facade and dating back to the 17th century. To the south-east is a horseshoe tower, connected to the south facade by a cutaway. All the superstructures were restored or redone in the 19th and 20th centuries. The original construction is entirely incorporated into the current building. The south-west tower retains a painted cabinet whose decoration is dated 1637 and signed Prunier. The cabinet is said to be "of the nymphs of the Tarn" because the ceiling is divided into eight panels, each comprising a portrait of a woman in a medallion. This decor is an important milestone in the study of ornamental motifs in the Mannerist tradition". Information from the Mérimée database Today, the Château de la Caze is a 4-star hotel.
