An enclosure of ramparts surrounded, in the Middle Ages, the church and the monastery of the Benedictines. The design of these walls has been preserved: the towers have become dwellings and one can walk around this enclosure, inside and outside. It included 6 towers, taking into account the belfry or clock tower. Near the Town Hall there are remnants of ramparts and a grooved door, where the portcullis slid. A passage to the church opens here in the wall. Various old doors are worth a look....

SAINT-GERVAIS CHURCH SAINT-PROTAIS: 12th century building, remodeled at the end of the 15th century. It consists of a nave flanked by two side aisles. On these collaterals open chapels dating from the 15th century. On the first span, the chapel on the south side is dedicated to Our Lady of All Powers. HALLE DE LANGOGNE: "The hall is made up of a horizontal terrace with fittings catching up with the differences in level. Six columns on each long side in granite, of Tuscan order, supports a very beautiful frame. The roofing is in lauzes of the country". (Information from the Mérimée database)
